NEC Infrared Image Furnace Model SC-N35HS/50X with Super Impose System

   Used for floating zone crystal growth of oxides in different gas atmospheres. Heat sources: halogen lamp up to 3.5 kW or xenon lamp 5.4 kW.

   Purchased in 1990; overall costs in 1990: $ 250,237.69 (including delivery and installation).

   The system has been in use until early 2012 when the graduate student using it graduated.
